Mindset should change

Few animals raped and tortured a girl and yesterday she died. This accident evoked emotions of anger and revenge in everyone. People are demanding capital punishment for all accused. But the story doesn't end here. This crime was not against one girl, but it was against humanity.

The root of such vile deeds is the mindset of our society which has made women a disposable commodity.

Punishing the guilty will be immediate step to mitigate the prevailing situation but it cant be a permanent solution.Mentality must be changed. Respect for women or civic sense is not a matter of days or months. It will take several yearsor decades  to change this despicable thinking of ours. This change should start from the family.

From the political point of view, women safety has barely found a place in the electoral manifesto of any party. They did talk about reservation of SC, ST or OBC. Actually, they raised a voice only out of political expediency.  But theyhave ignored the half of the population.

This time people came to road to protest against the insesitiveness of administration. Hope and pray that we, Indian, now on,will be sensitive towards any kind of injustice and fight against it.
